Lessons with Amara Thomas
I began playing the violin when I was four years old. I have been taking lessons and participating in ensembles for more than twenty years and I simply cannot get enough. I was a member of the Utah Youth Symphony in high school, obtained my Bachelor’s degree in music from Snow College and went on to complete my Master’s degree at the University of Arizona. I was able to participate in the Prague Summer Nights music festival and play some of the greatest musical compositions in one of the most musically historical places in the word. I studied for more than ten years under the amazing tutelage of Jack Ashton, and while in Arizona, I was a very lucky student of Lauren Roth, concertmaster of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. Since graduating, I have coached the violin sections of the orchestras at Canyon View High School and been an active member of the musical community in Cedar City, UT. I have room in my studio right now and I am offering lessons to all ages. I am willing to come to your own house to teach you, if you prefer. Please contact me for availability and pricing.
We strive to:
Find joy in music
Make purposeful progress
I am always grateful when people are willing to give of their time to come help my students, but it’s even better when they are capable and highly qualified. Amara is one of these. She gave of her time, but is also an excellent violinist, and an excellent teacher.
